Top Secret Captain Atom File 3 of 3
This story is continued from Captain Atom #27.
Synopsis:
Captain Atom parts ways with his friends from the Justice League, then teams with Jeff Goslin to continue the investigation into the conspiracy to frame Nathaniel Adam. Records indicate that members of a hit list belonged to an officers club called the Green Elite during the conflict in Vietnam. Alec Rois, now the Ghost, drugged Nathaniel and the Cambodian killed General Lemar. The murder was used to frame Adam.
General Eiling seems to be the next target on the list. He survives two attacks by the assassin Bolt, whom Captain Atom and Goslin track down. A final confrontation takes place with Captain Atom squaring off against the Ghost. Goslin fights the Cambodian, and Eiling takes on Bolt. As the fight is concluding, Henry Yarrow, Adam's defense attorney steps forward and claims credit as the leader of the conspiracy. Eiling shoots him, then the Ghost vanished.
In the aftermath, Eiling promises to formally clear Adam's name of the murder charges. He then meets privately with the Ghost who acknowledges Eiling as the real head of the conspiracy.
