This story is continued from Checkmate #17 and continues in Firestorm the Nuclear Man #86.

Synopsis:
Amanda Waller visits Mark Shaw's office and convince him to help her find information about the Janus Directive. Manhunter then infiltrates the offices of Anaconda Industries where he witnesses an experiment involving a microwave gun. When he is spotted, Shaw is chased by a group of ninja assassins. They pursue him onto a subway car and eventually believe they have killed him.
