A flashback fills in missing story details which take place between Action Comics Weekly #641 and Demon #1.
This story is continued from Demon #1 and continues in Demon #3.
Synopsis:
Jason Blood finds himself trapped in Hell with the damned. When he briefly falls asleep, Etrigan is set free. The Demon then enters the abyss of Hell where he tracks down his mother.
Meanwhile in Gotham City, Glenda and Randu are questioned by Lt. Kitch. The pair tell Kitch the origin of Etrigan, and the story of their own recent trip to Hell. Asteroth had lured the pair along with Jason Blood and Etrigan to Hell to complete a power transfer which would have made him ruler of Hell. Instead Merlin used a fragment of the philosopher's stone to imbue Etrigan with the power to overcome Asteroth. Etrigan then escaped with Jason to accomplish his own ends, which also include making himself Hell's ruler. Merlin then transported Glenda and Randu back to Gotham. Randu tells Kitch that Batman can corroborate the story, so Commissioner Gordon summons him.
