Synopsis:
Sardath is kidnapped just prior to Adam Strange’s return to Earth via Zeta-Beam. When Adam is able to return to Rann three weeks later, Alanna’s father still has not been found. Rann’s champion investigates and is attacked twice by his own shadow. Adam survives the attacks and researchs the walls on which the shadows formed to determine the source of the effect.

Sardath escapes and tells Adam that his old enemy Mortan is trying to get revenge. Adam locates Mortan's hide-out, but a trap awaits him. Adam is able to use the shadow radiation to his advantage, making himself invisible. Mortan believes the Zeta-Beam has worn off and relaxes his defense, allowing Adam to defeat him.
