Synopsis:
Jim Corrigan visits the home of Tim Donovan, but when he arrives he learns that Donovan has disappeared. When another man disappears under similar circumstances, Jim begins to suspect fowl play. He then invisibly stakes out the home of Daniel Walker who has received a threat from someone called the Avenger.

Percival Popp, a would-be detective who has been following Corrigan, also arrives at Walker's home. The Spectre then witnesses Walker and Popp as they are teleported out of a locked room. The Spectre follows them to the lab of Mortimer Crandall, a scientist who was fired from Stratton Utilities where the three victims worked. The Spectre defeats Crandall and rescues the men. Inspired by the case, Popp decides to continue following Corrigan on future cases.
