Synopsis:
After a brief meeting with the Cleric, Superman sets out to reach Warworld. However, the overseers of the artificial world have engaged the hyperdrive, taking it far away at incredible speed. Superman returns to the Cleric. The wise old man urges Superman to take the Eradicator which is part of his heritage. Before doing so, the Man of Steel is recharged with a concentrated burst of solar energy provided by the Cellkeeper.
Once back to full strength, Superman grasps the Eradicator which guides his thoughts to the past. Eventually his guilt over the execution of the Phantom Zone villains is exposed. The Cleric helps him to make peace with his decision. He encourages Superman to end his exile and once again become a force for good. Following their exchange, the Cleric collapses and dies of old age. The Eradicator had been keeping him alive for millennia. With new resolve, Superman buries the Cleric and vows to be a champion for life.
