Synopsis:
While trying to get evidence which will expose a drug trafficking ring, Jimmy Olsen is caught and tied up inside a sinking ship. He uses his signal watch to call Superman to save his life. After the Man of Steel rescues Jimmy, the young reporter reflects upon the first time he came upon a means to signal Superman.
About a year after the debut of Superman, Jimmy was working as a copy boy at the Daily Planet. One day, after returning home from work, his friend Chrissie Walker came to him after swallowing an entire bottle of pills. Efforts to reach emergency services failed, so Jimmy constructed a means to generate an annoying sound beyond the range of normal hearing. Superman picked up on the sound and was able to reach Chrissie before she died.
After watching Superman finish off the rest of the drug dealers, Jimmy pays a visit to Chrissie who has recovered from her problems in the intervening years. Jimmy and Chrissie have remained friends.
