Night People Part Two
This story is continued from Detective Comics #587 and continues in Detective Comics #589.
Synopsis:
During a fire containing corrosive chemicals, escaped killer Derek Mitchel is transformed into the Corrosive Man. His very touch is destructive to man and material. He kills a firefighter and injures two cops before doing battle with Batman. The Caped Crusader is unable to subdue the Corrosive Man since he cannot touch him. Mitchel then makes his escape.
Meanwhile, a man obsessed with death named Kadaver meets with his henchman Webley. The henchman tells his boss that he killed a homeless man, but Kadaver explains that Webley murdered the wrong man. Webley is sent out to kill the correct target, Dalton Walls.
Webley finds the homeless men gathering together to stay warm. He identifies Walls and stabs him. Batman seeing the commotion while searching for Mitchel finds Webley holding the murder weapon.
