Synopsis:
Superboy meets Zar-Al, a boy from Krypton who has traveled to Earth in a time machine to seek the element Zeelium which he believes will help prevent Krypton’s destruction. Zar-Al assumes the identity of the Krypton Kid and becomes Superboy’s partner. The Kid proves even more ingenious than Superboy in crime-fighting tactics and super-deeds.
Superboy decides that he should return to Krypton with the Zeelium in case it should fail. In doing so, Zar-Al would remain on Earth as its greatest champion. Zar tricks Superboy however and returns as planned in his time machine, explaining that Kryptonite would have a stronger effect on him than Superboy who has built up an immunity to it. Zar never did find any Zeelium, so he perishes in the destruction of Krypton.
