Synopsis:
Gene Dekker, a classmate of Clark Kent, works on an invention for the science fair. His father, also an inventor, is disappointed the his company is not interested in his latest inventor. Gene creates a model of his father's invention, a VTOL aircraft, and uses it in the contest.

During the demonstration, thieves abduct Gene and steal the model plane. Superboy finds and rescues Gene, who then wins the contest. Superboy then builds a full size plane and conducts a test flight. Following the successful flight, Gene and his father celebrate the success of their invention.
