Synopsis:
The underworld holds an annual awards show to honor the best crimes of the year. When Sphinx Ferris doesn't receive an award, he vows to win the biggest award for outwitting Superboy.

Sphinx and his gang strike in Smallville. Sphinx is outwitted by Superboy and blinded by one of his own men. Despite his blindness, Sphinx continues to target the Boy of Steel. Finally, Sphinx succeeds and brings proof of his crime to the awards committee.

At the awards show, Sphinx is shown to have robbed the Boy of Steel. However, Superboy was just using Sphinx to find the underworld hideout and gain evidence against the crooks. Sphinx and the others are then apprehended.
