Synopsis:
A member of the crime syndicate attends a costume ball disguised as Superman. The phony dances with Lois Lane and passes himself off as the authentic Man of Steel. He pretends to be weakened by Lois’s glass slippers which he claims are Kryptonite.

He returns later to get the slippers and when the real Superman shows up, he uses them against the Man of Steel. He then takes Superman to a secret hide-out and exposes him to the Kryptonite until Superman appears to die. The body is dumped in the river, and the crook pretends he is Superman.

The crooks attempts to rob the Daily Planet, but the real Superman returns. He explains that the slippers were not Kryptonite at all, and he faked his death in order to uncover the plot of the crooks. Superman rounds up the rest of the gang and turns them over to the police.
