Synopsis:
One night on the trail indians raid the camp of Matt Savage and steal the spare horses. Clay Dixon wounds one of the indians as they escape. Matt then leads his crew against the indians to retrieve the stolen horses. They succeed without injury, but Chief Grey Wolf claims that Clay killed his son. When Matt refuses to turn him over to the indians, the chief curses them.
Accidents then befall the group along the trail. A lightning strike startles the herd and causes a stampede. Then a flash flood nearly washes them away.
After escaping these incident without serious harm, Clay is captured by the indians. Jim Grant tells the others. The group locates Thunder Wolf, the chief's son, who is still alive. They then bring him to the other indians as proof of Grey Wolf's deception. Clay is released, and the war Grey Wolf intended to spark is averted.
