When a series of thefts occur involving timepieces, Ray Palmer deduces that Chronos has returned. Each theft involves a sudden inexplicable disappearance. When Ray himself witnesses an item disappear from his lab he notes that the clock jumped forward by five minutes. He concludes that Chronos is able to stop time.

As the Atom, Ray sets a trap for Chronos. The crook takes the bait, but he is able to overpower his tiny opponent. Atom escapes a death trap in order to confront the Time Thief again. With the help of watchmaker Anton Teljas, whom has also been investigating the disappearing items, Atom is able to defeat Chronos and return the stolen items.
