Farmer Brown allows a group of Smallville boys to use his land for a campfire. He then sets a worthless barn on fire and blames the boys. The boys offer to repay him by fixing his land. Superboy pitches in, but he suspects Brown is cheating the boys.
When Brown learns that Superboy is involved, he sets up another accident. The boys sink Brown's boat, so he forces Superboy to build him a new one. Knowing that Brown rigged the original boat to sink intentionally, Superboy makes Brown's scheme backfire. The farmer regrets his attempts to cheat the boys. Seeing that Brown has honestly reformed, Superboy fixes his land and teaches Brown a lesson.
