Synopsis:
Several Justice League members are victimized by members of the Royal Flush gang, criminals in the guise of playing cards. The Jack of Clubs causes Hawkman and Hawkgirl to argue, the King distorts Flash's vision, and the Queen halves Wonder Woman's Amazon powers. All this is accomplished using cards treated with the stellaration energy discovered by Professor Amos Fortune, secretly the gang's leader, the Ace. Joined by Superman and Batman, the heroes confront the card criminals again, only to become their victims once more. Batman is forced to betray his comrades, Wonder Woman becomes very ill, and stellaration from a red sun robs Superman of his powers.
With the League on the verge of total defeat, Snapper Carr deliberately provokes the argumentative Hawkman into recreating Fortune's stellaration energy in his lab and charging Snapper with it, enabling him to cure the afflicted members. The League then battles the Royal Flushers again, taking Snapper (as "the Joker") along as their secret weapon. With their honorary member countering the criminals' every move, the heroes are able to defeat their foes.
