Part II:"To Eliminate the Eliminator"
Synopsis:
Clark attends the funeral of Dr. Phantas, a follower of the occult. During the ceremony Clark is cursed after opening the coffin. As a result his reporter friends are doomed to die.
Clark dismisses the curse and writes the story in the Daily Planet. Then several of Clark's colleagues begin to die. Clark becomes a pariah and is shunned by other reporters. He eventually makes a connection that the reporters all shared a plane with him weeks earlier. Clark is then able to deduce the next target.
Superman replaces Mark Durbin and is attacked by a ghostly Dr. Phantas. The spirit is actually an alien lawman known as the Eliminator who has come to Earth seeking seven killers who have exchanged places with reporters. The Eliminator kills the phony Durbin, then releases the real reporters from suspended animation. Superman allows the Eliminator to return home, but disagrees with his methods of justice.
