Synopsis:
Shiera Sanders is robbed while riding the subway. Hawkman follows the crook to the home of Lucius Darrel, but the crooks are waiting for him. They knock him out, then plan his death by dropping him from an airplane.

As Hawkman falls to the Earth, he is spotted by a hawk named One-Eye. The hawk saves Hawkman and takes him to a hidden valley populated by intelligent birds. Hawkman learns their language while they help him repair his wings.

Hawkman then leaves the valley with a swarm of hawks. He confronts Darrel, who fires his gun in an attempt to kill Hawkman. One-Eye intercepts the bullet and is killed. After Hawkman finishes off the gang, the birds elect him their new leader.
