Synopsis:
Gunner and Sarge are part of a marine unit that has taken half of an island in the Pacific. Fearing a Japanese charge, the lieutenant in charge of the marines sends Gunner and Sarge on patrol to take a prisoner that can be interrogated. He offers them a 10-day pass if they succeed. They encounter an enemy sniper, a tank, and a machine gun nest. However, they are forced to kill their opponents in order to survive.

Gunner and Sarge return to the camp empty-handed. They are allowed to rest before going out on patrol again. While swimming in the ocean, they are pulled underwater by Japanese frogmen. They are taken prisoner on a Japanese submarine. The enemy commander plans to take them to the other side of the island, but the marines reach the submarine's armory and manage to destroy the sub.

The marines escape the submarine and take the enemy commander prisoner. They bring him back to camp, but the lieutenant is disappointed that the prisoner is a sailor and not an infantryman.
