Synopsis:
Wilbur Wolfingham attempts to swindle four rich citizens by falsely placing them into suspended animation. The victims think they will awaken in the future with more more since their investments will have earned interest.
Superman learns of the scam and puts Wilbur to sleep too. Superman then constructs a phony version of Metropolis that has fallen into disrepair. When the victims and Wilbur awaken they think they are in the future. Superman, disguised with make-up to make him appear older, claims that the world was ruined because too many people refused to work and went into suspended animation too. The victims find out their money is worthless.
Once Wilbur and his victims begin to regret their decision, Superman reveals the hoax. He forces Wilbur to return the money to his victims. They vow to invest the money to build a better world.
