Comments:
This story is continued from the second story of Arak/Son of Thunder #17.
Synopsis:
Malagigi's former lover Greeramada reveals her evil intentions by drugging the wizard and stealing the reliquary of St. Denys. She intends to resurrect the dead saint and use him to her evil ends. However, she requires the words of power from Malagigi, which he refuses to give. Only when the witch woman makes Valda her unwilling thrall and threatens to kill her does Malagigi submit and give her the words.
Greeramada then leads Valda to the Mount of Martyrs to perform the resurrection spell. The spell succeeds, and the form of St. Denys appears carrying his own head. As the trio returns to Greeramada's place of power Valda is able to break the spell which holds her in the witch's power. She impaled Greeramada with her sword. The sorceress plans to use St. Denys to heal herself only to discover that she was tricked. Malagigi reveals that it was he and the thief Brunello disguised as St. Denys. He had given the witch false words causing her spell to fail. With the sorceress now dead, Brunello departs, and Malagigi and Valda plan to return the stolen reliquary.
