Synopsis:
Sgt. Rock receives a letter from his fiance Mary Walsh. She tells him that she has met another man and got married recently. Rock is angry and marches off alone where he is captured by German soldiers. He escapes from them, but is wounded. Rock takes refuge in a nearby shack and meets an orphaned French girl, Mignon. Rock agrees to let her follow him until he can find someone to take her.
An attack from a German plane causes the girl to be wounded. Rock throws down his weapon and surrenders to a passing enemy tank hoping they will help the girl. When they refuse Rock attacks the tank crew unarmed and wins. He then rushes back to the girl and gets help for her from an Easy Company medic. The girl says she wants to marry Rock, so he gives her the ring that he had intended to give to Mary.
