This story continues from the third story of Action Comics #24 and continues in the third story of Action Comics #26.

Synopsis:
Jon Valor threatens to blow up the pirate ship of Captain Ruff unless the crew surrenders. However, the pirate captain has returned to the ship and surprises Jon. The Black Pirate is taken prisoner, then strapped to a cannon. Next, Captain Ruff orders Valor to reveal the location of the hidden treasure.

When one of the pirate crew secretly cuts Jon's bonds, the Black Pirate manages to free himself. He then sets fire to the ship. The pirate crew struggle to control the blaze, but Jon dumps oil on the fire. Everyone is forced to abandon ship by diving into the shark infested waters. Jon also dives into the water after sighting a nearby ship.
