Synopsis:
Tex Thomson answers a call for assistance from an insurance company that has paid out a large number of recent claims. James Thorne, the owner, suspects a racket but he cannot prove it. Tex takes out a large insurance policy, then rents an expensive car. While Tex is driving, a man jumps in front of the car claiming to be hurt. Tex points out that he added rubber padding to the bumper and the injury is fake.
The police arrest the racketeer, but Tex asks them for custody. He then tries to get the man to implicate the rest of his gang. The gang then captures Tex and Bob and plans to kill them. They are rescued by a chauffeur who was an earlier victim of the fraudulent accidents. Tex then apprehends the gang leader, Simmons, who worked as a manager at the insurance company.
