Synopsis:
Captain Atom travels to the arctic to visit his son Randy Eiling. Randy's patrol is sent to investigate and retrieve an alien device. The Soviets have their own team in the area. Captain Atom protects Randy and the others from the Soviets while they successfully retrieve the alien technology. Later, Randy is still upset with his father, but he agrees to reconsider his feelings if Atom can prove himself innocent of treason.
Meanwhile General Eiling and his men are preparing for the arrival of Major Force. A year after the original experiment which created Captain Atom, another attempt was made using Clifford Zmeck, an ex-military officer who killed Allard's mother. As with Nathaniel Adam, Zmeck disappeared during the experiment. Now 18 years later, the military is waiting for his arrival. He appears as predicted and is immediately captured using as specially designed gas. The military then implants tracking devices and a destruct mechanism in the molten metal which has bonded with Zmeck's skin. Allard wants to kill Zmeck, but General Eiling talks him out of it.
