Comments:
This story is an adaptation of stories from Crack Comics #1 and retells the origin of the Black Condor.

Synopsis:
Major Richard Grey leads an expedition in outer Mongolia. The party is attacked by riders loyal to Gali Kan. All are killed including Grey and his wife Anne. Only their infant son Dick survives.

The boy is found by condors and raised as one of them. Over the years, he attempts to fly like his adopted brothers and eventually the radiation of a nearby meteorite gives him the ability to do so.

When he is later injured fighting aerial combat with an eagle, the young man is found by an isolated monk, Father Pierre. Without knowing the youth's history, the monk names him the Black Condor. He spends a year teaching the boy speech and gives him knowledge about the world.

After a year, Father Pierre is killed by Gali Kan. The Black Condor leads a flock of condors against the horsemen while they are invading Hindustan. The Black Condor kills Gali Kan and forces the riders to retreat.

The Black Condor then leaves his bird friends and travels to America to find his destiny. Shortly after his arrival, he witnesses the death of Senator Tom Wright. The Condor is a striking double for the senator. He decides to assume Wright's identity and carry on his duties as a member of the Senate.
