Synopsis:
A caped man is spotted stealing the mail car of a train by carrying it away. Superman is blamed for the crime. The Man of Steel investigates and discovers the crime was pulled off by a super-strong robot called Metalo. Superman battles the robot, but finds his power is an even match for his adversary. Metalo kidnaps Lois and extorts money from Metropolis buinessmen. Superman finds them hiding out at the Farnham Circus. Metalo is revealed as an inventor wearing a metal suit. While trying to escape Metalo falls into a crevice containing molten lava. Superman believes his opponent dead, but Metalo escapes vowing to get even one day.
