Synopsis:
Tom Kalmaku tells his children the story of how he first met Green Lantern. His father had discovered a gold mine in Alaska, but dies after his partner Dawes left with half the map to the mine. Tom went to California to look for Dawes and took a job as a mechanic at Ferris Aircraft. Criminals tried to stole Tom's half of the map, but he was rescued by Hal Jordan.
Green Lantern then helped Tom track down the criminals and rediscover the lost mine. Tom gave the proceeds from the mine to his village and returned to work at Ferris as Green Lantern's confidant.
Tom reflects on how he and Hal grew apart over the years, but he is happy to have his family in his current life.
