Synopsis:
Simon Stagg attends a conference of the world's greatest volcanologists on the island of Tarboli. When Stagg and the other scientists turn up missing, Metamorpho goes to find them. He uncovers a hidden passage inside a volcano. Following the passage, Metamorpho finds evidence that Stagg has been there, but he is unable to locate his boss.

Metamorpho is then summoned to an offshore drilling site where the Earth's crust is being bored. An accident open a hole in the ocean floor. The one remaining volcanologist, Dr. Otto Von Stuttgart tries to repair the damage, but he fails.

Metamorpho believes Von Stuttgart is behind the crisis and Stagg's disappearance. He follows the scientist and discovers the scientists held prisoner. Metamorpho frees them, then raids Von Stuttgart's lab. The scientist has planted a neutron dissolver far below the Earth's surface which will cause worldwide disasters. Metamorpho drills hundreds of miles below the surface to destroy the weapon. Once his mission is complete, Metamorpho returns to the surface.
