Synopsis:
The Wanderers resume their quest to follow the journey of the original Clonus. His clone, trapped in computer of the Wanderer's space ship, tells the team the origin of his Prime. Clonus was forced to flee from the continuum of the Controllers after he was caught conducting illegal experiments with cloning. On a remote planet, Clonus met a human woman named Velissa and fell in love.
Together, Clonus and Velissa continued the cloning experiments. Although Clonus was immortal, Velissa was not. Therefore, she became the first successful cloning subject. Over the course of lifetimes, she was cloned many times. Eventually, the couple succeeded in having children who were given to the care of an institution. Eventually it was these children and their offspring that became the monsters which killed the original Wanderers and Clonus Prime himself.
Psyche has kept one of the monster hatchlings as a pet and converted it to join their cause. It is able to provide directions to the planet where the children of Clonus reside. The team sets course, after successfully capturing the Controller hunter that was trailing them. Once they reach the planet of the hatchlings, they also discover the last clone of Velissa, who is still alive.
