The Trickster's real name is given as Giovanni Giuseppe in this story. James Jesse is a stage name.
The origins of the Trickster, Pied Piper, Captain Cold, Heat Wave, and the Weather Wizard are recapped briefly in this story.
Booster Gold's involvement in this story, means this story must take place after Justice League America #29, in which he was released from the Queen Bee's mind control.
Synopsis:
A bald man mysteriously appeared out of nowhere in the middle of an alley. The man has no memory of who he is, but he exhibits megalomaniacal tendencies. After an encounter with a beat cop, the man stumbles across the costume shop of Paul Gambi. The costumes of the Rogues spark the man's memory, so he goes inside. Gambi suspects that the man might be one of the Rogues, so he briefly tells the amnesiac how each became a super-villain.
Meanwhile, the Trickster assembles six members of the Rogues Gallery and leads them to Gambi's shop. When they arrive, the man has just remembered who he is and has Gambi create a costume. He then faces the Rogues as Grodd. When the Trickster easily defeats him with one punch, the Rogues discover that he is just a man in a monkey suit. However, their jokes anger the man, who turns into a real ape. Grodd is then felled by a giant musical note created by the Pied Piper. Gambi offers to handle Grodd, so the Rogues disperse. This Gambi then reveals himself as Solovar in disguise, who takes the unconscious Grodd back to Gorilla City.
