Synopsis:
Jason Blood and Otto Von Hammer posing as German princes hire an army to attack the Wise Owl, a 19th Century mystic. Wise Owl has a time-lost Swamp Thing under his control, trapped in a green crystal. He also holds Lazarus Lane, aka El Diablo under his control. Swamp Thing wipes out the army. Only a few men including Jonah Hex survive.
Johnny Thunder and Madame .44 observe Lane's home where the Wise Owl has taken up residence. Bat Lash is working with them as is Super Chief. El Diablo captures Johnny and brings him to Wise Owl. Johnny's wife and Super Chief come to the rescue. They kill Wise Owl and set Swamp Thing free.
Swamp Thing then questions Hawk, the son of Tomahawk, who tells of a meeting between Swamp Thing and his father. Hawk then uses the Claw of Aelkhund to send Swamp Thing further back in time. Hawk then sells the Claw to Otto Von Hammer where it will remain in his family collection for decades.
