Synopsis:
Rip Hunter begins assembling his team to work on time travel experiments. The team includes his old partner Jeff, Bonnie Baxter and her kid brother Corky, and Rip's rich cousin Dan. Later a computer expert named Antonia joins them. With the team assembled they begin work. Rip contacts Superman through Booster Gold for help, but his stories are too far-fetched for the Man of Steel to believe.
Meanwhile, Dan hires an investigator to search for information on Templar Industries whom Rip believes are the fabled Illuminati. When Rip and Dan go to meet him, they find the investigator murdered. They do find an old photograph depicting Jeff in the Old West.
Back at the lab, Corky makes unauthorized use of a time travel backpack and goes back in time to the age of dinosaurs.
