Synopsis:
Doc Magnus is killed after being exposed to a lethal dose of radiation. The Metal Men seek to revive their creator, but are unable to find a means to do so on Earth. The robots then decide to take Doc's body to another dimension to seek a cure. When they step through the dimensional portal, the Metal Men find that their properties have changed. Gold has become copper-colored and loses his ability to speak. Mercury turns green and brittle, but assumes leadership of the team. Lead becomes lighter than air. Tin and Nameless are the strongest, making them both confident, and allowing them to lose their stutters. Iron is soft, while Tina is suddenly combustible.
The altered robots find the kingdom of King Dymond who claims to have the means to revive Doc. Gold knows that he is lying, but his lack of speech won't allow him to tell the others. Dymond offers to cure Doc is the robots complete three tasks. First they defeat the Mechan Monster, then they retrieve a lost treasure of clay bricks, and finally they solve the Mad Maze and locate Dymond's lost daughter.
Following the successful completion of Dymond's tasks, the Metal Men learn that the king cannot cure Doc. Tina begins crying, and her tears burst into flame. The flaming tears cause a chemical reaction with a perfume belonging to Dymond's daughter. The chemical fumes succeed in reviving Doc. The Metal Men and their creator then return home.
