Synopsis:
Hal Jordan enters the offices of the Ferris Aircraft Company where he works as a test pilot. While flirting with the boss’s daughter Carol, Hal is alerted to trouble with an experimental plane called the Flaming Spear. Hal makes a quick exit, dons his uniform, and charges his ring.
Green Lantern rescues the plane and it’s pilot Frank Nichols. He then uses his ring to reveal a radiation trail that apparently is responsible for locking the controls of the plane. Hal traces the beam back to three saboteurs. During the scuffle, he is kayoed by a yellow lamp which his ring is unable to affect. The saboteurs flee in a yellow car, but are subdued by the revived Green Lantern using the ring to create ice-picks which puncture the cars tires. Hal then delivers the trio to the F.B.I.
Upon returning to the Ferris offices, Hal is informed that the boss, Carl Ferris, is leaving with his wife to tour the world and will be gone for two years. Carol is left in sole charge of the company in Carl’s absence, which leaves her no time for a romance with Hal.
