This story is continued from the third story of Adventure Comics #426 and continues in the second story of Adventure Comics #429.

Synopsis:
After rescuing a French girl named Denise, Captain Fear finds himself at gunpoint. He quickly disarms the girl and is then informed by his crew that another ship approaches. The ship is commanded by the girl's father. Despite putting up a valiant fight, Fear and his crew lose. At the girl's request Fear himself is taken prisoner.

Once below decks on her father's ship, Denise releases Captain Fear. She gives him an opportunity to escape, but it leads directly to the captain. Fear kills his foe. With her father dead, the girl takes command of the ship and orders the crew to stand down. She then explains that the captain was not her real father. In fact she was his slave, but the crew does not know that. Rather than remain on board to serve as Denise's second-in-command, Captain Fear dives into the water and escapes.
