Synopsis:
After Clark Kent is photographed running away from danger, his reputation is ruined. Perry White fires him from the Daily Planet, but Lois has an idea to restore Clark's reputation. Clark and Lois join inventor Ira Stone on an expedition to dangerous locations in an effort to test Stone's new paint formula under extreme conditions.

Stone's rival J.C. Quagmire hires the Gargoyle to foil the expedition. Superman has to rescue the group to save their lives from the Gargoyle. Eventually he captures the villain, after being exposed to radio-active gas. As a result of his exposure to the gas, Superman must avoid contact with others until the radiation dissipates. Clark is presumed dead by Lois and Stone, but when they return to the Daily Planet, Clark is waiting for them. He claims to have been rescued by Superman and has written the story for publication in the paper.
