Synopsis:
Reporters from rival newspapers are upset that Superman is making headlines for the Daily Planet. After the Daily Globe prints a scathing editorial, Perry White suggests an open competition with Superman's cooperation. Superman agrees to treat all reporters equally.

When gangster Whitey Cronin is spotted in Midvale, Jack Race of the Daily Globe, Betty Keene of the Daily World, and Lois Lane race to get the story. Superman defeats the gang, then issues bulletins to each reporter. The three then race back to Metropolis.

Jack Race has the fastest car, but finds the bridge has been taken out by Cronin. He takes a detour, followed by Keene. Lois waits at the bridge for Superman to repair the damage. Once the bridge is fixed, she reaches Metropolis first and beats the other newspapers to the story.
