Comments:
Batman and Flash’s JLA signal devices are incorrectly shown in their belts, rather than in their insigniae, in this story.
The Justice League and Adam Strange battle Kanjar Ro in Mystery in Space #75 soon after this story. That adventure, in which the JLA members first encounter Adam Strange, must occur between this story and Justice League of America #4 because Flash proposes Adam Strange as a candidate for JLA membership in Justice League of America #4.
Synopsis:
Kanjar Ro, dictator of the planet Dhor of the star-sun Antares, paralyzes everyone on Earth with the vibrations of his Gamma Metal Gong. To free them, the Justice League must aid Kanjar in overcoming his three rival planetary rulers. With Batman and Snapper left in the Secret Sanctuary as bait in a trap for Superman, the villain takes the members on his hyper-spatial Cosmic Boat to Antares.
J’onn J’onzz captures Kromm of Mosteel; Wonder Woman and Aquaman team up against Hyathis, queen of Alstair; Flash and Green Lantern subdue Sayyar of Llar. Kanjar Ro has said that only the unique vibrations of his three foes pronouncing his name simultaneously will free the people of Earth from his spell, and when he tries to renege on the agreement, the Justice League members surprise him with recordings they have made of his rivals’ voices.
Superman, Batman, and the paralyzed Earthlings are freed, and Kanjar Ro and his three enemies are exiled to an artificial planetoid created by Superman.
