Synopsis:
Rip Hunter is accused by men from the 26th century of having stolen a supply of the mineral velium. Rip agrees to be taken to the future to stand trial. After admitting in court that he stole the velium, Rip is sentenced to prison. However, when exiting the courtroom, Rip comes to his senses, remembering nothing of the crime or his admission of guilt.

Rip escapes from his guards with Jeff’s help. The time travellers then track down the missing velium, learning that Professor Hazzard and his assistant have stolen it for personal use. Hazzard used a device on Rip, causing his to confess to the crime.

Hazzard uses the stolen mineral to power an evolution machine. He creates a tyrannosaur that terrorizes the city. Rip tries to stop it with Jeff’s help. Hazzard then turns the ray of Jeff, turning him into a prehistoric man.

Rip breaks in to Hazzard’s lab and steals the mind control device used to make him confess. He uses the device on Jeff and the tyrannosaur, getting Hazzard to surrender. Rip then reverses the effect of the evolution machine.
