Synopsis:
When a nearby atomic plant has a dangerous meltdown, Superboy is forced to help with the cleanup operations. While he is away, Superboy arranges for Chuck Trent to substitute for him in Smallville. Superboy stages an accident in which Chuck appears to gain super powers. Chuck then patrols Smallville, while Superboy cleans up the plant.
When crooks suspect that Chuck has lost his powers, they set a fire to test him. Superboy observes the scene with his telescopic vision. He impersonates Chuck and puts out the fire, furthering the belief that Chuck has powers.
Superboy is then able to return to his work at the power plant. When he returns, Chuck tells people that his powers have faded away without anyone realizing that he never had them at all.
