Green Lantern reveals his secret identity to Carol Ferris in this story.
Synopsis:
Dinah Lance takes a teaching job at the Meadowhill School run by Jason Belmore. Green Arrow and Green Lantern accompany her, but they are thrown out. When they return to their car, Green Lantern finds his old girlfriend Carol Ferris. She is now confined to a wheelchair. Carol explains that Belmore is her fiance, and that he is terrified of something. After their car literally falls apart, the heroes return to the school.
Inside the school, Black Canary has seen odd behavior from the students and staff. When she tries to investigate, Grandy, the school cook, issues orders to Sybil to stop her. Sybil is a mutant girl with psychic powers. Grandy then locks the Canary in the basement with a swarm of angry wasps.
Green Lantern and Green Arrow return in time to save Dinah, but Grandy orders Sybil to stop them. The girl turns on Grandy and brings the school down on top of them. The heroes get out in time, but Grandy and Sybil do not. Green Lantern then confesses his love for Carol and reveals his secret identity to her.
