Maddox's Revenge:Chapter III
This story is continued from Warlord #130.
Synopsis:
Morgan is reunited with Danny Maddox in Xur-Chemosh. Although Maddox appears to be friendly at first he quickly turns and takes Morgan prisoner. Maddox reveals that he was working for the Russians and sentenced to live in a gulag after failing to shoot down Morgan's spy plane. Maddox begins torturing Morgan until Mariah learns what has happened. She tries to help, but Maddox catches her too.
Meanwhile, Aoife has washed ashore and is brought to Maddox. He takes her headband which is a key to Atlantean technology, then throws her in the dungeon with Morgan and Mariah. Using the headband, Maddox tries to access the mysterious Atlantean machine that he has found. However, the machine was constructed to require activation by a descendant of its creator Garn Daanuth.
The machine begins destroying the city. Morgan and his friends are able to escape from the dungeon. Warlord then takes the headband from Maddox and gives it back to Aoife who is a descendant of Daanuth. She halts the destruction. Maddox's power base is gone along with the city. Despite learning what kind of man Maddox is, Mariah elects to stay behind on the island with him while Morgan returns home.
