Comments:
This story is continued in part from Hawkman #6 and continues in part in Hawkman #8.
Hawkman's brief appearance in Outsiders #18 must occur immediately after this story since it the only time in which there is a break in the action.
Synopsis:
While Hawkman recovers from the injuries he suffered at the hands of Lionmane, Deron Ved attacks the hospital where he is staying. The Gentleman Ghost and Hawkwoman battle several other Thanagarans inside the hospital while Hawkman takes his fight with Ved outside. Ved wears a suit containing many Thanagaran weapons and calls himself Darkwing. The battle appears to end in a draw, but Ved then boasts that he has kidnapped George Emmett and is holding him at the Hyathis Complex. Hawkman withdraws, but vows to rescue his friend and take down the invaders in the process.
