Comments:
This story continues in Superman #20.
As revealed in Superman #20, the Lana Lang in this story is actually Supergirl in disguise.
Synopsis:
While protesters rally outside their headquarters, the Doom Patrol test themselves in a series of exercises. Robotman tests his newly constructed body and receives news that the foreman at his California ranch was attacked. The attack was perpetrated by Metallo who has now arrived in Kansas City searching for robotic parts used by Steele. Metallo is able to take control of the parts, and therefore Robotman. The rest of the Doom Patrol is engaged by other robots of Metallo's creation.
When news of the battle reaches Superman who is visiting nearby Smallville, he leaves Lana Lang and comes to lend a hand. When he arrives on the scene he finds most of the Doom Patrol unconscious and injured while Metallo and Robotman are nowhere to be found.
