Synopsis:
Slam and Shorty attend a play put on my whack playwright Monte Royce. During the opening act criminals try to rob the audience. Slam goes into action to stop them only to be informed that they are part of the play. When the criminals continue, Slam realizes that real crooks are involved. He and Shorty chase them, but are ultimately caught themselves.

Once the detectives escape, they attend another of Royce's performances. This time clowns from the stage rob the audience. Slam and Shorty dress as clowns themselves and apprehend the crooks, including their boss, the theater ticket salesman.
