Most of this story takes place in Max Lord's dream.
Synopsis:
Max Lord tells J'onn about his power to push his will on the minds of others. He then attends a party in which he mind controls a pretty party guest named Wanda. Max returns to his apartment with Wanda. Inside is a costumed villain named Lord Evil. Max uses his power to cause the villain to step off the high-rise balcony to his death.
Max then dons a garish costume and goes on patrol. He stops a drug deal, a petty theft, and a giant gorilla. In each case, Max's intervention leads to the death of the perpetrator. Finally, Max arrives at a JLA meeting where another villain named Massivtron has already defeated the League. Max kills him too. When the League confronts him, Max awakens from his dream.
Max drank too much at the party and passed out when he reached his apartment with Wanda. He calls J'onn to cancel a budget meeting, claiming illness.
