Comments:
Jason Blood's history is recapped in flashback. This flashback makes it clear that Jason Blood had a human existence before Merlin used him as a cage for Etrigan. This differs from the pre-Crisis version in which Merlin conjured Jason Blood as shown in Demon #1.
This story is continued from Demon #4 and continues in Demon #6.
Synopsis:
Etrigan gathers an army of demons to help his plan to take over as ruler of Hell. His father Belial will wait and see how the war proceeds before choosing a side. In the meantime, Jason Blood's memory is refreshed by Harry Matthews. The two then seek out Merlin who seeks to stop the impending war. His first plan is to keep Jason awake to keep Etrigan from emerging.
Back in Gotham City, Klarion keep the district attorney a prisoner in his own home while he begins his own schemes.
