Comments:
The Elemental War Conclusion
This story is continued from Firestorm the Nuclear Man #92.
An editor's footnote claims that a revelation concerning Red Tornado's true nature was made in Secret Origins #49. However, that issue was still months away from publication and contains no such revelation. It is likely that this story was planned, but never published.
Synopsis:
Naiad and Red Tornado press their attack on Japan. Swamp Thing arrives in Tokyo and creates a living wall to block the approach of the elementals. Swamp Thing asks the others to listen to reason. Naiad is consumed by anger and continues to fight. Firestorm joins the fray and uses his powers to boil the ocean. Naiad backs downs.
Firestorm then shares the message he received from the Earth spirit Maya. He suggests that the elementals should serve to guide humanity. Naiad abandons her war and retreats to the oceans to consider Firestorm's words. Without Naiad's anger guiding him Red Tornado also ceases his attack. Firestorm constructs a temporary body for his android form. Firestorm then delivers a message about the environment to the people of Japan.
