Comments:
this story takes place following Firestorm #93 in which Red Tornado gets his new android body.
The chronology as it relates to the Justice League is challenging to determine. Animal Man is still in attendance, even though he asked for a leave of absence from the League in Animal Man #20. However, Buddy was still hanging out with the League in Justice League Europe #11 and Justice League Europe #12, before officially beginning his leave. Therefore, this story likely takes place immediately after the funeral in Animal Man #20 and just before Justice League Europe #11. Also Crimson Fox is shown at the meeting even though she turned down League membership in Justice League Europe #10. She is however shown as a full-fledged member of the League in Justice League Europe #13. She must have accepted membership before between those two stories and before this story begins.
Synopsis:
After Captain Atom reveals his espionage activities to the European Justice League team, he is approached by Red Tornado. The elemental asks for help to rediscover his humanity. Their meeting is cut short after an abbreviated call from Chester King who mentions Silver Shield.
Captain Atom and Red Tornado fly to Las Vegas to find Chester. He is unharmed and not in trouble. His call was interrupted because Silver Shield sat on the phone. The heroes stay for dinner, during which Bonnie King collapses. The heroes rush the pregnant woman to the hospital. Captain Atom runs interference to protect her from the Black Racer. Bonnie gives birth to her daughter Beth. The baby does not breathe, but Red Tornado enters her body to restart her lungs. In so doing, he has taken the first step towards regaining his humanity.
